Hansel and Gretel - Week One

Soprano Maureen McKay, who makes her Opera Company debut as Gretel, goes about her chores darning socks despite that fact that she and her brother Hansel are hungry.

Soprano Lauren Curnow sings the "pants" role of Hansel. Here with his sister Gretel, soprano Maureen McKay, the children dance and sing the famous duet "Brüderchen, komm tanz' mit mir" ("Brother, Come and Dance With Me") in order to distract themselves from their hunger.
