A Taste of Opera on Sunday, April 29th!

Call to make your reservation today for A Taste of Opera on Sunday, April 29th at 1:00 PM.  Join us for the FREE final lecture of the season in a new location: the Academy of Music Rehearsal Hall. Acclaimed British baritone Mark Stone, who makes his U.S. debut as Ford in Falstaff, will perform "Shakespeare on Tour" with the Opera Company's Artistic Coordinator Laurie Rogers at the piano. Repeating a recital he recently performed at the Royal Opera Covent Garden, Mr. Stone will perform a unique program of Shakespeare-inspired art songs by Schubert, Korngold, Chausson, Quilter, and more. Then join members of the Falstaff cast and artistic team for a roundtable discussion on Verdi’s comic masterpiece based on Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor

 Want another way to prepare for Falstaff? Join us for Opera Overtures.  A subscriber-only benefit, these FREE 30-minute informal talks take place in the Academy of Music auditorium on the Parquet level, one hour before every performance.  

The Company welcomes various noted opera lecturers such as Joan Cohen, Tom Ardmore, and Opera Company Community Programs Manager Michael Bolton, as they guide you through the plot, musical highlights, and historical high points of Verdi’s final comic masterpiece. 

All presenters use a microphone to give you the most enjoyable and informative experience possible.
